Spread Your Wings Baby

Lately, this has been an internal message to myself daily.

“Spread your wings baby” Fly!

If you’re one of Nicki Minaj or Rihanna fans, then you’d be familiar with the lyrics of their musical collaboration “Fly“

My favorite lines are the chorus by Rihanna,

I came to win, to fight, to conquer, to thrive
I came to win, to survive, to prosper, to rise
To fly
To fly

and when I think deeply about it, I think that is everyone’s goal; to be, become and bloom.

For me, the dream is to bloom like God’s favored one, Esther and find favor in the eyes of man and God.

I’m also sure that this is YOU too “yes, you reading this”, your desire as well

So, maybe as you start your day, before you pray or preferably, after you pray, remind yourself to spread your wings and fly.

Remember also, in the deconstructed words of one of my favorite tweets “make sure to distinguish the difference between arrogance and confidence because arrogance requires everyone to be smaller than you in comparison. However, confidence means you existing independently against the grandness or smallness of anyone as you are a light on your own. Your very own sun”
