Is innovation the death of us?

Is knowledge a burden?

Yes yes, I think so.

I lost my family’s friend to brain tumor at the age of 30 last year.
I experience the craziest headache if my phone screen isn’t dimmed to the lowest.
My ears tingle the most because excess use of headphones.
I fear for my life when I get long calls and my phone starts to have a fever.

Alas, I have the craziest migraines these days.

I don’t think anyone is talking about this, or maybe we know, they know, it is known but there’s a shadow hovering around this truth.

Technology is killing us. Especially the millennial.
Following the autopsy and seeking more information on what exactly caused the brain tumor, I was told that a quarter of the millennial will experience brain tumor.

In short, the cases of brain tumor has been on a high.

Onyinye started experiencing symptoms of headache and then blurry sights from time to time.
This is a second friend to the family been hit by a brain tumor. I thank God for my cousin Ginny who survived.

According to Edward T. Cregan, M.D, The primary concern with cellphones and cancer seems to be the development of brain tumors associated with cellphone use. Some research suggests a slight increase in the rate of brain tumors since the 1970s, but cellphones weren’t in use during the 1970s.

Even the members of the International Agency for Research on Cancer — part of the World Health Organization claim that there’s limited evidence to that. But if you follow conspiracy theories, you’d understand that the technology business is one that would definitely have a lot of politicking.

However, on the 23rd of July 2015, The World Health Organization (WHO) classified cell phone radiation as a “possible human carcinogen” due to an increased risk of brain cancer from long-term and heavy use of cell phones. Toh! So, how come, three years later, there is a change in this information from member groups?

A more recent article would be this piece by Jacqueline Howard for CNN on the rise of brain tumors in relation to cell phones.

I do not plan to make this a thesis but more of an expression of concern.

I currently have eye problems and a permanent head ache that doesn’t seem to go away.
I have checked my blood pressure, sugar levels, iron and all that is necessary.
Only fear is doing another MRI not just because of the rays but it’s cost.

With the rise of wireless (air pods etc), is brain tumor silently taking us out one by one?

  • Quite interesting read.. a no of thoughts rising.. Generally its said that the levels of radiation generated by phones cannot qualify them as carcinogens but it can be another ploy(the money backing this technology giants is quite huge)… this should be looked into . Public health is important..
